Former President Donald Trump made a surprise appearance at the UFC 287 event at Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, on Saturday night, and the crowd roared in cheers in response to his attendance. Trump appeared to support his vocal supporter Jorge Masvidal, one of the UFC’s top stars, in his UFC fight against Gilbert Burns.
In one video posted on social media, the former president stands for the crowd and waves while the audience enthusiastically cheers and chants, “USA!”

While talking to comedian and UFC commentator Joe Rogan in the ring after his fight, Masvidal praised the former president as he pointed at him, “Greatest president in the history of the world, I love that guy.”

The 38-year-old fighter also praised Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL)and then encouraged the crowd to chant “Let’s go, Brandon” as a slam against President Joe Biden.
Trump sat in the front row of the event with UFC President Dana White, boxing legend Mike Tyson, Kid Rock, and his eldest son Donald Trump Jr.
Trump’s appearance comes after he pleaded not guilty last week to 34 counts for allegedly falsifying business records which prosecutors claim breached election laws in 2016.

Saturday night was a momentous night for Masvidal as he announced his retirement following a defeat to Gilbert Burns, making it his fourth consecutive defeat.

“I love everybody here,” Masvidal told the crowd Saturday night. “This is where I started my career. It’s been a long 20 years, 50-some fights. Sometimes your favorite basketball player don’t have that 3-pointer no more. Your favorite quarterback loses that rifle. I don’t feel the same when I get in here no more. It’s been 20 long years.”
He retires with 35 wins and 17 losses, and holds the record for the fastest knockout in UFC history at just five seconds into a fight. He had started out as a street fighter in Miami before joining UFC.
