With no signs of lockdown ending any time soon, many people have decided they can't deal with their overgrown locks any more - and have picked up the scissors.

Photos of haircuts gone wrong have flooded social media, and we can't get enough of some of the hilarious fails.

The latest to entertain us is Kelly Hunt, who was left in hysterics after her attempt at cutting her son's hair went wrong.

George, 10, asked her to cut his fringe since he hadn't had a chance to get a trim before the lockdown and it was now getting in his eyes.

But, Kelly only had a pair of her dog Rolo's dog grooming scissors to hand, which of course, was never going to end well...

As Kelly started cutting, she realised she'd cut too much and tried to fix it.

This only resulted in an even shorter style, one closely resembling Jim Carrey's character Lloyd in the 90's film Dumb and Dumber.

She said: "George was due to have a haircut just before the lockdown and his fringe was getting into his eyes and he asked me to cut it.

"I'd seen how to cut hair and do a fringe on TV, so I thought 'ok, I can do it'.

"I had to cut it with some dog grooming scissors and the straighter I was trying to cut it, the shorter it was going, and in the end it just ended up a mess.

"He wasn't happy about it and he did look a bit like the character in Dumb and Dumber - we'd only just watched that film as well!

One person suggested shaving his entire head (

"I initially sent a picture to family members and their response was 'oh my God what have you done?'

"George was having to wear hats out on our daily walks."

After sharing the fail to her Facebook, one person suggested shaving his head completely.

But, since Kelly didn't have an electric shaver either she was forced to use her mum's dog shaver instead.

And, after her other son lost a bet she cut his hair too (

She said: "George prefers his shaved hair to the first cut, but I think the sides of his head are a bit bald and it's still just a mess all over - I hope it grows back quickly.

"He's glad that he hasn't got school because he likes to have long hair so it's quite a drastic change to what he's used to."

Kelly also cut her 14-year-old Finley's hair after he lost a bet to his friends.

She said: "Two days later, my eldest son Finley was playing Fortnite with his friend and he said whoever lost a game would have to get their mum to give him a haircut.

"He lost so I ended up giving him a haircut and that's quite shocking as well.

"I used the dog clippers again and cut it on the narrowest, shortest bit and he ended up looking more bald than George - it's also uneven on both sides.

"He won't go anywhere, he won't even leave the house but he lost that dare and he's paying for it now!"

After the double-whammy fail, Kelly has been told: "I'm not allowed to cut anyone else's hair now and my six-year-old Ethan won't let me anywhere near him - even if I stroke his hair he runs away!

"I'm never going to be getting into hairdressing after this, it will be my first and only time, I've learnt from my mistakes and have a new respect for barbers and hairdressers."
