DLC and significant post-launch support has been a consistent feature for Call of Duty games for years, and so it comes as no surprise that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is no different in that regard. In a recent investors call, Activision COO Coddy Johnson touched on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's DLC plans, claiming that the game will more DLC than any other Call of Duty game in series history.

Johnson didn't provide specifics as to what fans can expect from the "largest post-launch content pipeline in franchise history," but there has already been some announcements about what Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's DLC will have in store. We know that the game will be adding new multiplayer maps for free, to avoid splitting the community, and that it will more likely than not have a ton of cosmetic DLC that players will be able to buy using microtransactions.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will also likely have seasonal events and the like to keep fans engaged with the game long after launch. These events are sure to introduce new game modes, weapons, customization options, and more. In the meantime, the most substantial post-launch update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare may come to the game at some point in 2020.

Leakers have claimed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will get a battle royale mode in 2020. However, where the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare battle royale mode differs from Black Ops 4's Blackout battle royale mode is that it will apparently be free-to-play, not requiring players to own the Modern Warfare base game. A Call of Duty: Modern Warfare battle royale mode has yet to be confirmed by Activision or Infinity Ward, but it does appear to be in the works.

Battle royale in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will give Infinity Ward even more opportunities to add new DLC to the game. Taking that into account with everything else that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has planned, and it's easy to believe Johnson's claim that the game will have the "largest post-launch content pipeline in franchise history." But before fans need to worry themselves about the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare DLC, they will have to wait for the game itself to launch first, which is happening in just a couple of months time.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare launches on October 25 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
