Turkey's Hatay Governorship has stated in a written statement on Saturday that five attackers were arrested before they reached Hatay’s city center in a joint operation carried out, on June 23, 2017 by Hatay’s Department of National Intelligence Organization (MİT) and the Provincial Directorate of Security units.

The explosive suicide belts seized were wrapped around the bodies of two attackers, who were neutralized and captured without any casualties, according to the same statement.

Upon preliminary inspection of the suicide vests, captured along with the terrorists, it was found that the explosives were fragmentation grenade fused.

Five suspects have been detained: three from Syria and two from Turkey, and a multifaceted investigation has been conducted.
